Everyone desires whiter brighter teeth and there are a variety of products available both over-the-counter and in-office professional bleaching. While over-the-counter products are quite effective, to achieve true pearly whitening agents, I would really recommend in-office or professional dental bleaching agents. Many agents are effective. Light treatments while bleaching in-office, same day, and also professionally made take home bleach trays with professional strength bleach. The light method and the bleach tray method are the best methods to truly achieve pearly white teeth and to get your teeth as white as you can without the use of cosmetic porcelain dentistry. Products can be used like bleach in custom made trays and how we apply this bleach is the amount is about one dot of bleach and the comparable dot of bleach would be about the size of a 14 point asterix, more than that just generally, oozes out of the tray and burns the gum tissue. This is usually harmless and temporary and passes in about seven to ten days. All of these in-office bleaching products should really be used under the supervision of your dentist. Many patients experience temporary mild cold sensitivity while other patients don't tolerate bleaches well due to extreme cold sensitivity. Patients find that they see ads in magazines and other places and I believe some patients can get a false sense of how much effective whitening can happen from whether they are in-office products or products that are over-the-counter. Results shading from this shade tab to here are realistically achieved with bleach. Magazine ads and other media ads that show bleaching going from this dark shade to something this white I believe are generally unrealistic. You are more likely to get whiter brighter teeth when using the professional bleach strengths, however, again most of them will not get you from here to here.
