What Clothes Do Dentists Wear?

15:43

Dentists don't wear clothes according to any type of predetermined regulation. Find out about the clothes that dentists wear with help from a dental expert in this free video clip.

Hi, I’m Dr. Gary Cash. What clothes do dentists wear? Some patients ask this. Any types of clothes are really okay. We are not under any kind of particular regulation. Some doctors are more formal, are suit and tie-type doctors or dress shirt and tie-type of doctors. Other doctors wear scrubs. And, other doctors like myself are very casual. The underclothes are not so important. What all dentists should wear, regardless of their attire, is the protective long sleeves, safety glasses of some sort – I choose magnifiers with my safety glasses – and of course mask and gloves. There really are no rules and guidelines what type of attire dentists wear under their protective wear. Most importantly is that all dentists wear protective sleeves to minimize splash and cross-contamination, and of course masks, gloves, and protective eyewear that are changed in between patients.
